EFT Program

Are you looking for a more convenient way to pay your policy premium? Are you tired of writing checks or remembering to go on-line and pay your premium? We have the answer for you. You can now pay by EFT.

Automatic Payments

Germania Companies are pleased to offer our customers the convenience of a Pre-Authorized checking account payment plan. When you select this payment method, your insurance payments for your current and any renewal or additional insurance policy or coverage, will be automatically deducted from your banking account using Electronic Funds Transfer, EFT. Premiums will be drafted monthly. Thus, by way of example only, if your premium were $120.00, your account will be drafted in the amount of $10.00 each month.

What are the advantages of EFT?

The convenient automatic withdrawal each month of premium payments eliminates installment fees, check writing, and the risk of losing coverage due to non-payment. You save time and money!

How do I enroll in EFT?

To begin EFT, please complete the EFT Authorization Form and attach a voided check for the account you wish to have drafted. Please select a draft date between the 1st and 28th for each policy you elect to be paid via EFT. (If you do not indicate a date on the form,we will use a date close to or the effective date of the policy for the draft date.) Upon receipt of your completed form, we will enroll you in our EFT Payment Plan. You will receive a notice that will state the amount of the monthly deduction and when the first payment will be taken from your bank account.

How do I stop EFT?

If you wish to discontinue the EFT deduction from your account (s), please contact your insurance representative in writing. When we stop automatic drafting of your account (s), we will send you a bill for premium payments. Of course, the EFT deduction will also stop upon the termination of your insurance coverage and the satisfaction of any outstanding premiums and/or fees.

Q: If I have multiple policies, do I have to use the same financial institution for all?

A: No, a different financial institution may be used for each policy. A voided check must be sent for each financial institution.

Q: Can I have payments drafted out of my savings account?

A: Yes. Since you will not have a voided check, please provide a routing number, account number and indicate "Savings" account on the form and send to the home office.

Q: Are there any fees if I pay by EFT?

A: No, we do not charge a fee if paying by EFT. Also, we do not charge the typical installment fee if paying by EFT. This could be a savings of $30.00 a year on an automobile policy.

Q: My policy has just renewed. Is it too late to pay by EFT?

A: No, as long as it is prior to the due date on the premium notice, the policy may still be set up on EFT. If a payment should be needed prior to being set up on EFT, you will be contacted by our office.

Q: How do I get the authorization form to you?

A: You may fax a copy of the form and voided check to 979-830-7544 or send in the mail to: Germania, PO Box 1400, Brenham TX 77834-1400.

Q: What is the transit number and where is it located on my check?

A: This is a number used by a financial institution for processing items on your account. The transit (or routing) number is located on the bottom line of your check. If unsure what number to put on the form, attach a voided check or contact your financial institution for the transit number to be used for ACH. As long as you provide a voided check, we have all the information needed to draft your account.

Q: Can I send a deposit ticket instead of a voided check?

A: A voided check is preferred since some financial institutions have different routing numbers on deposit tickets. However, if all you have is a deposit ticket, it is okay to send it with the authorization form.

A: Yes, additional payments are accepted if paying by EFT. Future payments will be reduced by the amount received and a new draft schedule will be sent of future draft dates and amounts.
