EFT Authorization Form

Are you looking for a more convenient way to pay your policy premium? Are you tired of writing checks or remembering to go online and pay your premium? Avoid the hassles and sign up for Germania’s EFT program!

About the EFT Program

Germania Companies are pleased to offer our customers the convenience of a pre-authorized checking account payment plan. When you select this payment method, the premium for your current Germania policy, as well as any renewal policies or additional insurance policy or coverage purchased, will be automatically deducted from your banking account using Electronic Funds Transfer. Bank withdrawals are drafted based on the pay plan you choose that best meets your needs (monthly, quarterly, etc).

What are the advantages of EFT?

The convenient automatic withdrawal of premium payments eliminates installment fees, check writing, and the risk of losing coverage due to non-payment. You save money and can spend more time on the things that matter.

How do I enroll in EFT?

There are several ways to enroll in the EFT program.

When completing the authorization form, please be sure to choose a draft date (1-28) for each policy you elect to be paid via EFT. If you do not indicate a date on the form, we will use a date close to or on the effective date of your policy. Once enrolled, you will receive a notice that will state the amount of the deduction and when the first payment will be withdrawn from your account.

Note: If an invoice has already issued at the time of EFT setup, the amount on that invoice will need to be paid before we can begin drafting your account.

How do I stop EFT?

If you wish to discontinue the EFT deduction from your account(s), please contact your agent in writing. When we stop automatic drafting of your account(s), we will send you a paper bill for premium payments. Of course, the EFT deduction will also stop upon the termination of insurance coverage and the satisfaction of any outstanding premiums and/or fees that are due.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Yes, when the policy is changed to EFT, you will receive a notice of the draft dates and amounts. Should your policy premium change during the year, you will receive a new notification of draft dates and amounts.

Q: Once I am set up on EFT, can I change my draft date?

A: Yes, you can contact your agent and request the change. Depending on the new date requested, the change may not take place until the next month.

Q: What do I do if my financial institution information changes?

A: Log in to your account on our website to add and select the new bank information. Or, notify your agent of the change in financial institutions and the effective date of the change.

Q: What do I do if I no longer wish to pay by EFT?

A: Notify your agent which policies you wish to have taken off EFT.

Q: If I have multiple policies, do I have to select the same draft date for all?

A: No, a different draft date may be used for each policy. The draft date may be any date from the 1st to the 28th of the month.

Q: If I have multiple policies, do I have to use the same financial institution for all?

A: No, a different financial institution may be used for each policy. If you are signing up for EFT through your agent or the home office, a voided check must be sent for each financial institution.

Q: Can I have payments drafted out of my savings account?

A: Yes. Please provide a routing number and account number. Indicate "Savings" account on the form if you are requesting setup through your agent or sending it to the home office.

Q: Are there any fees if I pay by EFT?

A: There are no installment fees if paying by EFT; however, if an EFT payment is returned by the bank due to NSF or Uncollected Funds, a $25 fee will be charged to your account.

Q: My policy has just renewed. Is it too late to pay by EFT?

A: No. As long as it is prior to an invoice issuing, the policy can still be set up on EFT. Paper invoices are issued 20 days prior to their due date.

Q: How do I get the authorization form to you?

A: You can fax a copy of the form and voided check to 979-830-7544 or mail to:
Germania, PO Box 1400, Brenham TX 77834-1400.

Q: What is the transit number, and where is it located on my check?

A: This is a number used by the financial institution for processing items on your account. The transit (or routing) number is located on the bottom line of your check. If unsure what number to put on the form, attach a voided check, or contact your financial institution for the transit number to be used. As long as you provide a voided check, we have all the information needed to draft your account.

Q: Can I send a deposit ticket instead of a voided check?

A: A voided check is preferred since some financial institutions have different routing numbers on deposit tickets.

Q: Can I make an additional payment during the year and stay on EFT?

A: Yes, additional payments are accepted if paying by EFT. The payment amount would apply to the next invoice (or invoices, depending on amount).

Q: Can my policy be drafted one time for the year regardless of the premium due?

A: Yes, if you choose the full pay option.

Q: Will I receive a reminder each month?

A: No. A draft schedule is sent for the policy term. Another schedule is sent only if the draft date and/or withdrawal amount changes from the original schedule.

Q: Can I obtain additional copies of my draft schedule?

A: Yes, the draft schedule can be viewed and printed for each policy from our website at Once you have logged in to your account:
